El Campo de Cebada

March 4, 2014 § 2 Comments

ENG/ Last Sunday, after a pleasant lunch in the popular neighbourhood of La Latina, in Madrid, we bumped into this interesting place. Located in a plot, in the middle of the big city, El Campo de Cebada (The Barley Field) is the name given to this artistic/social/cultural space by the group of neighbours that brought this place to life. Activities include concerts, poetry and gardening, among others, in a creative place furnished with recycled objects. I really liked it.

Stone Sculptures in Menorca

January 23, 2014 § Leave a comment

Following the ancient path of Camí de Cavalls (Horse Path), on the way to Cala Pregonda, in the island of Menorca, Spain, you will find this amazing garden of stone sculptures, created by all the improvised artists that decided to contribute with their formations, left afterwards at the mercy of the capricious balance.

Long Road to Equality

December 6, 2013 § Leave a comment

“Social equality
is the only basis of human happiness.”
Nelson Mandela

It’s great to honor Mandela and remember his commendable and patient work for equality, but all that is useless if our actions show a contrary intention, when reality decides to leave the TV screen and approaches the comfortable realm that is protected by our cold and closed doors.

A small gesture, a closer look or the simple understanding of evidence may contribute to the unlikely foundation of the long and arduous road to equality. A road that has a sense per se, thankfully, although his end is drawn distant, hazy and haphazard, almost impossible.
